The GR ® 2013 is a metropolitan trail of 365 km which shows the Marseille-Provence area in a new light. This cultural and artistic project offers a new hiking experience. Through both countryside and built up areas, passing sheds and scrubland, highways and natural reserves, this metropolitan hiking trail takes walkers around the Etang de Berre and the Massif de l'Etoile revealing poetic pockets in our suburban world.
Encompassing both the urban cityscape and natural wilderness, this pedestrian network aims to help change the way people travel in urban and suburban areas.
The GR ® 2013 designed by Baptiste Lanaspèze is a route traced by "artist-walkers" in the shape of a figure 8 or representing infinity. It also encompasses the landscapes of the Bouches-du-Rhône, an area which has been variously modified by humans over several millennia.
