The town of Stockport in the greater Manchester area has rehabilitated its air raid shelters.
The anti-bombardment shelters testify to the hardship endured by British citizens during World War II. This initiative allows visitors to visit the underground corridors, which even served as housing during part of the war.
There are many items of furniture and objects on display such as bunk beds, wooden benches, crash helmets and a strange sixteen seater toilet.
