Situated on the banks of the River Rhone, the Parc de la Tête-d'Or (or "Park of the Golden Head") in Lyon is a 105-hectare expanse of lawns, flowerbeds and groves of century-old trees. It is a romantic place, but also a place for sports and family activities, and a place to relax in the sunshine. This English-style garden was designed and landscaped in 1856.
Be sure to visit the Rose Gardens, the Botanical Garden with its steamy greenhouses filled with exotic plants, and of course the Zoo with its 800 resident animals!
