Built to the plans of architect Renzo Piano in 1995, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lyon is near the Parc de la Tête d'Or, in the Cité Internationale.
The building has two facades: a facade from the 1930s in red brick overlooks the Parc de la Tête d'Or and another more modern glass one faces the Cité Internationale.
With 2 600m² and three stories, the public are free to explore and discover the works of art. The Museum of Contemporary Art does not have a permanent collection on show, but hosts a variety of temporary exhibitions.
