The city of Bruges with its medieval city centre has been a member of UNESCO's Organisation of World Heritage Cities (OWHC) since the year 2000. The historic centre or the Old Town as it is known, is one of the most romantic neighbourhoods in the city. The Gothic style buildings and the architecture of Bruges as a whole retrace the history of Medieval Europe.
There are the large cobble stone squares, the red-brick buildings and the small stone bridges making the historic centre of Bruges a romantic and educational experience of time travel.
As you stroll around the city centre, take in monuments like the Brugse Vrije, the Saint Jean Hospital, the Minnewater and the Stadhuis.
You cannot fail to be impressed with the magnificent heritage of Bruges!
